How to Boot Windows 11 to Safe Mode

If for some reasons your Windows 11 PC is behaving abnormally, then it is good idea to boot it into safe mode. Here are 3 methods to do so!

Safe Mode is very useful for a lot of users when it comes to troubleshooting different issues faced by them. In Safe mode, only the vital apps are allowed to function on PC to make the task of troubleshooting efficient.

Method # 01: Using Windows Start Menu to Boot in Safe Mode:

  1. Click on the Start menu and then click on the Power button.
  2. While holding down the ‘Shift’ key, Restart your PC. Keep holding down the Shift key and it will bring the Windows Recovery Environment.
  3. Select the ‘Troubleshoot’ option and then go to ‘Advanced options’.
  4. Go to ‘Startup Settings’ and then click on ‘Restart’ at the bottom.
  5. Now, you will see three types of Safe Mode.
  6. Choose the one that suits your needs. You can do so by pressing the respective key to enable a particular type of Safe Mode.

Method # 02: Using the Sign-in Screen:

  1. Power on your PC, it will take you to the sign-in screen.
  2. Click on the Power button at the bottom right corner of the screen.
  3. Click on Restart while holding the Shift Key. This will take you to the Windows Recovery Environment.
  4. Follow the steps mentioned above for booting in Safe Mode via Windows Recovery Environment.

Method # 03: Using Windows Settings:

  1. Press Windows Key + I to open Windows Settings.
  2. Under the ‘System’ category, click on the ‘Recovery’ option.
  3. Click on ‘Restart Now’ next to ‘Advanced startup’. This will open Windows Recovery Environment.
  4. Now, follow the same steps as listed above for the Windows Recovery Environment.
